Night On The River (III) by michaelwilhelmi

The downtown of Chicago seen through an unused railroad bridge on the South Branch of the Chicago River.
Captured while on an evening trip on a Chicago Water Taxi.
This area to the south is much less developed with an existing railroad yard and tracks on the left and an area of former railroad yards to the right.
The tallest building in the photo is the former Sears, now Willis, Tower.

South Branch Chicago River after Sunset by suzettebarnett

I took this photo from a 15th floor hotel bar at the part of the Chicago River known as Wolf Point, facing south. Once I got set up, I was slightly disappointed that the clouds had blown by because I wanted the drama in my photo—now I realize that the clear sky offers a clean backdrop to show off the great architecture and twinkling lights 🙂
