Luminance by JonathanDanker

Singapore City

Love it or hate it, Singapore is my home. As I grow older and less rebellious, the meaning and significance of a place where I belong becomes stronger.

As much as I’d like to travel out of here, I think my heart can never leave this city.

In the years to come, I’m sure this skyline would change beyond recognition. But I will always remember my home. My Singapore.

The Tribute by JonathanDanker

Fullerton Hotel 3d Mapped projection tribute for SG50.

Pretty awesome looking addition to the usual Singapore Skyline. Too bad it’s not a permanent display but it’s still worth a look.

Collaborative Efforts by JonathanDanker

South Beach Development, Singapore

Another one of the collaborative efforts with Hak Wee. He should be credited fully for the photos as he shot it. All I did was process the image.

Super amazing sky and location!

Universal Pride by JonathanDanker

The ultimate vantage point for the SG50 final rehearsal.

I’m extremely grateful to my friend Hak Wee for the invite to this super awesome spot to shoot the last rehearsal for Singapore nation wide party.

This year is extremely special due to it’s golden jubilee as such much marketing has gone into making SG50 seen everywhere from building lightings to fishcakes.. lol

Hope you like this image! It was a pleasure shooting this years national day fireworks. I don’t think I’m brave enough to stand amongst the hundreds during the actual day though..

Have a pleasant Sunday!

Glass Canyons by JonathanDanker

Raffles Place, Singapore

I remember shooting this composition a few years back but did not have the proper equipment to create good work.

Had the chance to go back and re do it again with a vengeance.

The tilt shift worked amazing here and I had no trouble what so ever to get exactly what I wanted.

Wheel of Fate by JonathanDanker

Haven’t been doing much for my geometrick vision lately. Chanced upon this amazing scene while at a shoot and since I was supposed to be there for a shoot, I took the opportunity to shoot it without any hassle although it was a little weird to be set up right in front a of corporate event reception desk to get the shot.

Pyro Bay by JonathanDanker

Marina Bay, Singapore

5th Fireworks rehearsal for SG50 National Day.

For a city that has fireworks so much throughout the year. It’s a great time to be a photographer in Singapore where the displays are getting so big and grand even for just a rehearsal.

But with that being said.. theres a great surge of photographers going early to spots as early as 1pm in the afternoon. Gone were the days when I could just arrive at location at 4pm and there would be no one around.

So long story short.. I couldn’t get to my pre planned spot but managed to find myself at a pretty decent vantage point in the end.

Theres a good reason there was no clamouring over this location though as it required a full 180 degree panorama to achieve the full effect and I underestimated the size of the fireworks as I had to quickly change from 17mm ts to my samyang 14mm so I couldn’t use any of my blue hour shots in the end.

Hope you like this image! It took some work to create.

Canon 5d Mk 3 | Samyang 14mm f2.8 ED AS IF UMC | ISO 100 | f 11.0 | focal length 14mm (11 tile, 4 exposure blend multi axis panorama from multiple locations as I had to shoot the base from a clamp due to shakey floor boards)
