Blue hour in Chicago, overlooking the bend of the Chicago river where the Magnificent Mile starts. Michigan ave traffic can be seen to the south, with Millennium Park in the distance.
I took this photo from a 15th floor hotel bar at the part of the Chicago River known as Wolf Point, facing south. Once I got set up, I was slightly disappointed that the clouds had blown by because I wanted the drama in my photo—now I realize that the clear sky offers a clean backdrop to show off the great architecture and twinkling lights 🙂
Chicago lakefront on a cold spring evening.
The Chicago Skyline from the Adler Planetarium, a location about a half mile into Lake Michigan. On this day there was just a little bit of ice left on the lake that added to the amazing reflections from the City’s lights.
I’ve been to this location quite a few times, but only a few days ago I had a chance to capture this dramatic scene after sunset. By coincidence or not, it was an important day for me with a powerful meaning. So I thought I would capture the mood of that evening in a photograph and save this moment in time. Thank you for viewing! PS: single exposure with strong winds from the lake.
