The Passage of Time II by katherineyoung

The Shard is a 95-storey skyscraper in Southwark, London, that forms part of the London Bridge Quarter development. The Shard’s construction began in March 2009 and completed in November 2012. The tower’s privately operated observation deck, The View from The Shard, was opened to the public on 1 February 2013.
Standing 309.6 metres, The Shard is currently the tallest building in the European Union. It was designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano and replaced Southwark Towers, a 24-storey office block built on the site in 1975. The Shard was developed by Sellar Property on behalf of LBQ Ltd and is jointly owned by Sellar Property and the State of Qatar.

The Glory of the Museum by gmcauliffe

Shot of Hintze Hall at the Natural History Museum in London, UK.

Editing in Camera RAW, NIK Viveza and NIK Color Efex Pro. I had to edit out a few people and the Flaming Pear ‘Flood’ filter was used as I couldn’t seem to get right in the centre of the stairs in time before the crowds flooded in.

Have been keen to photograph the museum from this spot since I saw Otto Berkeley’s great shot taken here.

Hope you like it.

Faultlines by Turnipfarmer

Faultlines – Canada Water Library, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

Sorry I have been quiet on here lately, I have been eagerly wanting to upload my Open House London images but I wanted to just wait a little as sometimes there can be too many uploaded onto Flickr in one go and sometimes can get missed with the mass upload.

This is Canada Water Library and one spiral staircase I didn’t know existed so was glad to add it to my ever growing list of Spiral Staircases. The staff here were very polite and allowed you to wonder around the building which from the outside is very interesting, almost looks like a bunker but when inside you would never know it looked like that from the outside.

Of course this is the centre piece of the whole building and my wide angle lens was just big enough to get it all in frame. Just a nice little touch to the overall image was the other photographer on the chairs at the bottom, I don’t know who she is but I like that little addition to the photo, I hope I was just as photogenic in your photo too :-).
