Kings Cross Underground Station, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

This is one of my favourite tunnels on the London Underground, well the image above is slightly edited but you get the idea. Last year when it was opened it was the in place for every photographer to visit (well up until the Canary Wharf Tunnel thats just opened which I have yet to photograph) so I wanted to do something a bit different with my image.

I have already previously uploaded a classic version of this tunnel but felt it would work as part of my ‘Conceptual Fabrication’ series and the image you see above is the result of it.

I hope you like it and let me know your thoughts.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Southwark Underground Station, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

Just back from a weeks holiday down in Devon, nice and relaxed. The weather was great for most part compared to here in North Yorkshire so I made the most of the Sun that we got down in Devon.

I did get a few photos which I will work through in the next few days but todays upload is from the vaults and is of Southwark Underground station. I love this view, one of my favourites within the station but for some reason it is a pig to get all lined up, I am not sure if its the spacing between the tunnel arches or the unusual patterns going on with the roof at the end but in the end I think I got it right.

I am really looking forward to my Underground ‘Ghost’ Station tour a week on Friday at Charing X, can’t wait to get some photos of that awesome station, well the closed Jubilee Part of it.

Oh also just to let everyone know, I have finally joined Instagram, yes I know I am a bit slow but if your on it and wish to follow me click the link below

The Mad Hatter’s Labyrinth by Turnipfarmer

Embankment Underground Station, London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

One for my ‘Conception Fabrication’ collection, this is one of the tunnels at Embankment Tube Station but its my interpretation of it and hope you like it.

I hadn’t visited this station in a few years as it was undergoing a major refurbishment and to my astonishment they had got rid of the dark blue tiles that lined this tunnel and replaced them with a cream coloured version which in my opinion I don’t like and look horrid! The blue tiles I felt gave the station character although it did make it a little dingy in places which I suppose is why they got rid of them and I got to thank those cream tiles as it made the job easier in creating this high key feel.

Hope you are all having a great day and many thanks for your comments on my photo yesterday.

Wellcome Collection, London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

Whilst I am still working through my Venice images I thought I would share with you all an image I took at the start of the year, the opening of the brand new staircase at the Wellcome Collection.

This staircase didn’t fail to disappoint and I really enjoyed taking photos of it, the staff even encouraged it so big thumbs up there!

Not the easiest of staircases to photograph as I would have liked to get in the middle of centre part of the staircase to look directly up but I am sure me clambering around aa brand new staircase may not go down to well ;-).

Café Glockenspiel, Munich, Germany – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7
OK its another black and white photo, I just couldn’t resist and to be honest Judith (JAT2012) would be upset if I didn’t ;-).

Looking back to my Munich trip last year and this was the wonderful staircase inside the Cafe Glockenspiel, this staircase is something that the staff seemed very proud off to have in their cafe and welcomed photos of it, sadly this is becoming less common here in the UK, especially in London and major cities. Some people just don’t understand why you would want to photograph a stunning and beautiful staircase like this.

Looking forward now, I have a trip to Venice coming up soon and can’t wait. Mainly looking forward to relaxing but I am sure I will get a few photos from my time there, fingers crossed the weather will be nice in Venice, its so rubbish here in the UK at the moment, certainly not BBQ weather thats for sure!

Happy Monday everyone!

Dark Side of the Moon by Turnipfarmer

Longitude Building, Mann Island, Liverpool, Merseyside, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

One image from the archives and one that I didn’t think was salvageable, thats why its important to keep checking through your photos from time to time as you do find that odd image that you miss from time to time.

I had spent most part of this morning working on another image that I took yesterday around Scarborough but just wasn’t really getting anywhere with it, no matter how I edited it I just didn’t feel it was right so decided to leave it and try another photo, don’t worry I will revisit that image sometime soon.

Anyone else get frustrating days like where you just can’t get the editing right?

I hope your all having a good week so far!
