City Hall, London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

Almost forgot about this photo from Open House few years ago, a photo lost in the load of others. Not the easiest of photos to edit due to the high highlights and low lights of the shadows but I think I have it about right and balanced.

This was taken with my old 8mm Fisheye which sadly I don’t have anymore as the lens didn’t fit on my full frame camera when I upgraded however I do have the 14mm version which is a lot better and I am sure would capture something very similar to this.

I probably won’t be visiting City Hall this year as I have been here a few times and it is one of the most visited and well photographed locations on the Open House circuit.

I hope you all have an awesome weekend!

All this talk about Open House London has made my have a fresh look at some of my older photos that I have taken during Open House. As promised this is a continuation of my Open House series so it can help you decide on certain venues.

I have always liked this photo when I took it however looking at my editing style from 4 years ago I was not as keen on it as I once was. I thought this would be a perfect candidate to get editing on and this was the result.

When I first started out in photography my editing style did include HDR quite a bit but now I hardly do HDR at all, I am just not keen on its look and I go for my natural editing styles and editing styles which I feel compliment the overall image.

How have you found your editing styles have changed over the years? Do you prefer yours now or how it was back then?

Warp Speed Mr Sulu by Turnipfarmer

Adams Place Elevated Walkway (Canary Wharf Crossrail Bridge), London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

nother from this fabulous elevated walkway or really a bridge in my eyes. I have done this to add to my ‘Conception Fabrication’ series, I couldn’t resist in doing this edit on it as I wanted to try something different on what is already a photographed place even though it has only been open a couple month. To me it looks like two rockets boosters or warp nacelles if your into your Star Trek :-).

I really can’t wait to see the other stations of the Crossrail project, if this is anything to go by I am sure they won’t disappoint!

Fingers crossed they will be in the next Open House London that is coming up this September which as always I am really looking forward to.

Anyone else planning on going?

Adams Place Elevated Walkway (Canary Wharf Crossrail Bridge), London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

The hippest place to photograph in London at the moment! I think most of you will know where this is but for those who don’t its the brand new elevated walkway over Adams Place taking to you to the new Crossrail station (not open yet), this bridge only opened a month or so a go so as you can imagine its popular with photographers.

Whilst in London the other week I couldn’t resist in visiting this stunning looking structure and what makes it even more interesting for me is that its designed by Sir Norman Foster, I am a big fan of his and there is a lot of buildings in London now designed by him.

I really enjoyed editing this photo, its one of them photos that seem to edit well and I have many idea of doing another few different edits to this photo, I might do a triptych at some point.

As you can see there is a chap at the end of the bridge which I quite liked as an addition to the photo and believe it or not he came up to me and apologised for being in my photo but I thanked and said it was no problem. Not long after another guy came up to me and said how great it is this station and how Canary Wharf was proud to have something like this, whats happened in Canary Wharf? People are not generally this polite to photographers here but keep it up Canary Wharf, I like this new you!!

Have a great Monday!
