国家大剧院 by JulienFolcher

After a visit to the forbidden city I decided to go to the national theater to take photos at the end of the blue hour. This has been pretty much a game of hide and seek with the security guards. There is a fence all around the reflection pool edge, making it impossible to get close to get the maximum reflection possible.

There was 2 security guards, one shouting 请出去! (= get out), the other one being more relaxed, even indicating the exact point of the central axis for perfectly symmetrical photos. I basically walked around quickly placing my tripod on the edge and triggering a long exposure while the guards was covering the other side, trying to always stay on his opposite side 😉

The architect is one of my countrymen, Paul Andreu.

Faultlines – Canada Water Library, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

Sorry I have been quiet on here lately, I have been eagerly wanting to upload my Open House London images but I wanted to just wait a little as sometimes there can be too many uploaded onto Flickr in one go and sometimes can get missed with the mass upload.

This is Canada Water Library and one spiral staircase I didn’t know existed so was glad to add it to my ever growing list of Spiral Staircases. The staff here were very polite and allowed you to wonder around the building which from the outside is very interesting, almost looks like a bunker but when inside you would never know it looked like that from the outside.

Of course this is the centre piece of the whole building and my wide angle lens was just big enough to get it all in frame. Just a nice little touch to the overall image was the other photographer on the chairs at the bottom, I don’t know who she is but I like that little addition to the photo, I hope I was just as photogenic in your photo too :-).
