The Stage by Turnipfarmer

Charing Cross Underground Station, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

Well my new Flickr account has been well received and I’d like to thank those who have moved over from my old account to my new one and of course your comments and likes too!

I will be following some of you back but can’t at the moment due to the 20 followers that Flickr puts on new accounts, odd I know but I think its some anti-spam thing.

This is another photo from my Charing X ghost station tour. This is one set of escalators within the station complex, sadly they don’t work anymore but are kept in very good cosmetic condition. Again these were used in the James Bond film Skyfall where famously James Bond slides down the escalator, something that would probably be impossible in real life or if you did attempt it, it would result in some horrendous injury!

If you get chance to visit this station it is well worth a visit so keep an eye on the London Transport Museum website.

Hide and Creep by Turnipfarmer

Abandoned Ghost Station Tour) Jubilee Line Charing Cross Underground Station, London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

Another from my little series from my tour of the closed off areas of Charing Cross station. This is one of my favourite tunnels on the whole of the Underground.

Some of you may recognise this tunnel too as it was used in the Horror film called Creep. Not a massively famous Horror film but the Creep creature emerges from a darkened cupboard just off around the corner and its a scene in the film I have always remembered.

When I watched this film back in 2004 it was before was involved in photography and even before I had a DSLR but at the time I wondered where this tunnel was and thought it would be awesome to photograph it and explore the station where the film was filmed one day, well fortunately this came true!

One thing I do find with the London Underground or railway stations is how stations that are packed during the day and then become empty at night (something I have been privileged to working nights on the railway) is how different they can be, they almost take on a sinister feel, imagine walking around this station and down this tunnel at night, completely by yourself!

Would you, wouldn’t you?
