Lucky by raavi

Financial District turned out to be not so lucky these days, but i felt lucky today evening shooting Financial District during sunset from DUMBO. Golden orange sky with pink hue added more drama to already dramatic downtown skyline.

Gotham by Night by Thousand_Word_Images

While in NYC I went up several of the skyscrapers at night. The observation platform at the Rockefeller Center is far from being the highest, but it wins for allowing you to view many of the best buildings in NYC in one view. Buildings like the Empire State building, One World Trade Center in the distance, the Bank of America tower (right), the Chysler building on the right. The light pollution on the ride side of the image is Times Square. The New York skyline is changing, with the massively tall (but very thin) 432 Park Avenue condo building now dominating the skyline over Central Park (I’ll share some shots of it in my upcoming article). There are another five towers taller than the Empire State in the works right now. It is fantastic to see the Big Apple so fully recovered from the devastation of 9/11. This is a four shot pano, stitched and processed in Lightroom.

Technical Information: Canon EOS M3, Canon EF-M 22mm STM, Processed in Adobe Lightroom CC

Let Freedom Ring (World Trade Center 1) by Thousand_Word_Images

It was a profoundly moving experience to visit both the memorial pools (the largest man-made waterfalls in the world) in the footprints of the original World Trade Center towers and to look up at the staggeringly beautiful new monument to the persistence of freedom and the American ideal. The new World Trade Center 1 is a gorgeous building, and a great deal of love and care has gone into crafting the monuments at Ground Zero as well as the amazing 9/11 Memorial Museum. Definitely a highlight from a recent extended visit to NYC. I’ve done my best to capture both elements in this shot along with a sunstar off the new tower from the morning sun.

Technical Information: Canon EOS 6D, Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD, Processed in Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Photoshop CC, Alien Skin Exposure 7 (use code “dustinabbott” to get a 10% discount)

Crimson Sky by BenoSaradzic

This is probably my favourite shot from my last trip in NYC. I had to wait until the very last day of my brief visit to be rewarded with this amazing red sky over Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge. The whole spectacle lasted just a few minutes before returning to murky grey tones.
Isn’t that how all wonderful moments in life come and go?

Jules Verne Reality by teach50

One World Trade Center in NYC is in the background. The new Transportation Hub is in the foreground. It is still under construction. What a magnificent piece of architecture it is designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. There is so much to say about it. If you are interested you can look it up on google. Just amazing.

The Magic City by KiritPrajapati

Home to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Statue of Liberty and other iconic sites, New York City is a fast-paced, globally influential center of art, culture, fashion and finance. The city’s 5 boroughs sit where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean, with the island borough of Manhattan at the “Big Apple’s” core.
