Higgledy Piggledy by Turnipfarmer

City Hall, London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

Almost forgot about this photo from Open House few years ago, a photo lost in the load of others. Not the easiest of photos to edit due to the high highlights and low lights of the shadows but I think I have it about right and balanced.

This was taken with my old 8mm Fisheye which sadly I don’t have anymore as the lens didn’t fit on my full frame camera when I upgraded however I do have the 14mm version which is a lot better and I am sure would capture something very similar to this.

I probably won’t be visiting City Hall this year as I have been here a few times and it is one of the most visited and well photographed locations on the Open House circuit.

I hope you all have an awesome weekend!

City Hall, London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

All this talk about Open House London has made my have a fresh look at some of my older photos that I have taken during Open House. As promised this is a continuation of my Open House series so it can help you decide on certain venues.

I have always liked this photo when I took it however looking at my editing style from 4 years ago I was not as keen on it as I once was. I thought this would be a perfect candidate to get editing on and this was the result.

When I first started out in photography my editing style did include HDR quite a bit but now I hardly do HDR at all, I am just not keen on its look and I go for my natural editing styles and editing styles which I feel compliment the overall image.

How have you found your editing styles have changed over the years? Do you prefer yours now or how it was back then?

Fun House by Turnipfarmer

1 Bishops Square, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

I really can’t wait for Open House London, its one of the photographing highlights of the year for me and I always enjoy looking at new buildings.

This is a photo from one such building, 1 Bishops Square. Its art installation is pretty amazing and well worth a visit if your doing Open House this year and if its in this years program.

I have pre-ordered my guide ready for delivery in August, should be interesting to see whats in there. I think some Cross Rail stations might be one of the main locations this year although not 100% sure, suppose I have to just wait and see.

The Angel Building, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

Wow this is my 6th Black and White image I have uploaded to Flickr, might inject a bit of colour into the next upload.

This is the awesome interior of the Angel Building in London. I looked down from this balcony and had to take this image due to the wonderful amount of textures and intersecting lines, this is one building I may revisit during my next Open House this year.

I have had a few questions about how I get these images and the answer is Open House London, a weekend every year that London allows the public to visit buildings that are not often open to the public. Its a great weekend if you have never been and I highly recommend it.

I am planning on doing a blog post on my website for you all to give you an insight into the weekend and of course which buildings I recommend and tips too.

Dark Side of the Moon by Turnipfarmer

Longitude Building, Mann Island, Liverpool, Merseyside, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

One image from the archives and one that I didn’t think was salvageable, thats why its important to keep checking through your photos from time to time as you do find that odd image that you miss from time to time.

I had spent most part of this morning working on another image that I took yesterday around Scarborough but just wasn’t really getting anywhere with it, no matter how I edited it I just didn’t feel it was right so decided to leave it and try another photo, don’t worry I will revisit that image sometime soon.

Anyone else get frustrating days like where you just can’t get the editing right?

I hope your all having a good week so far!
