The Void by Turnipfarmer

The Void – One New Change Shopping Centre, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

A new image this time and one that I must have edited 5 or 6 different times, each time just not happy with the edit I did. I then revisited it yesterday and did this edit of it and instantly liked it, its odd how things occur sometimes. I think what was putting me off is the lack of clouds or textures in the sky behind St Paul’s, to me I need something to fill that gap or the balance of the highlight with the lowlights was just putting me off.

Anyway, with all that aside this is One New Change shopping centre, almost becoming a bit of a cliche now within the photographer fraternity so I tried something a little different and went for a low POV and surprising it worked really well although I did get an odd look from the gentleman in the photo but I don’t care :-).

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Southwark Underground Station, London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

Probably one of my favourite, if not my favourite Underground station on the whole network. I just love the timeless modern architecture going on here at this station, its certainly stood the test of time as this station was built in 1999.

My favourite part of the station has to be this Obelisk in the middle of the two platforms, its stunning, certainly reminds me of a lighthouse. Its quite unique as I can’t think of this architectural feature anywhere else on the tube network, even on the newish Jubilee Line Extension stations.

Seeing stations like this built about 15 years or so ago gets me really excited about the brand new Crossrail stations, I bet they will be a great addition to London’s growing transport network and I am hoping that some of these stations will be available for a sneak preview during Open House London this year, fingers crossed!!

Kings Cross Underground Station, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

I couldn’t resist in playing around with this tunnel and this was the result, another to add to my ‘Conceptional Fabrication’ photo series, it is good fun.

I have done two versions of this, one in this monochrome feel and the other in a colour feel. Personally I prefer this one as it gives it a more sci-fi futuristic feel to the image but I might upload the other later on and let you see which you all prefer.

This is one tunnel I plan to revisit next time I am down in London which will hopefully be Open House London. As always I can’t wait for it and look forward to seeing what the Open House team have in store as the main events!

I am planning on doing a blog post maybe next month of some of the places I have visited in the last 5 Open Houses that I have done to help those make decisions on where to visit and photograph.

Would this be of interest to anyone?

Hope you are all having a great week so far and looking forward to tomorrow being Friday and all! 🙂
