The Palace of the Parliament is the seat of the Parliament of Romania. Located on Spirii Hill in central Bucharest, the Palace is the world’s largest civilian building with an administrative function. It is also the most expensive administrative building and heaviest building. It measures 270 m by 240 m, 86 m high, and 92 m under ground. It has 1,100 rooms and is 12 stories tall, with additional 8 underground levels. A colossal parliament building known for its ornate interior, it houses the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, three museums and an international conference center. The National Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Totalitarianism and Socialist Realism, and the Museum of the Palace are hosted inside the palace. Though named the House of the Republic after the Romanian Revolution of 1989 it became widely known as the People’s House (Casa Poporului), also known in English as the People’s Palace. Parliament House is visible from the moon!

Singapore city celebrates with glowing lights by diyben

We had a 4 day long weekend from 7-10 Aug due to the celebration of Singapore national day on 9 Aug and in conjunction of SG50.

SG50 is a year long nation wide campaign celebrating the 50 years of Singapore independence. We are lucky to witness the many ongoing activities around our small city state. Many are community initiated events to involve people from all walks of lives. Corporations and government agencies played a big part too.

This shot was taken during one of the many rehearsals for the big day. I love my country very much and wish her all the best for many many more years to come.
