Southwark Underground Station, London, England – http://bit.ly/1FZgNen

Probably one of my favourite, if not my favourite Underground station on the whole network. I just love the timeless modern architecture going on here at this station, its certainly stood the test of time as this station was built in 1999.

My favourite part of the station has to be this Obelisk in the middle of the two platforms, its stunning, certainly reminds me of a lighthouse. Its quite unique as I can’t think of this architectural feature anywhere else on the tube network, even on the newish Jubilee Line Extension stations.

Seeing stations like this built about 15 years or so ago gets me really excited about the brand new Crossrail stations, I bet they will be a great addition to London’s growing transport network and I am hoping that some of these stations will be available for a sneak preview during Open House London this year, fingers crossed!!

Marienplatz Metro Station, Munich, Germany

I have had so many uploads I have been sitting on and not getting round to upload them until now as I feel its the right time to upload them with my new Flickr account.

I will be returning to the Open House London archive uploads shortly but this is another addition to my ‘Conceptual Fabrication’ series. I have done this one in colour with the distinctive Orange tiles that you often get with German metro stations but I wanted to try a black and white image and this was the result, really like the high key feel that the orange tiles create when converted to Black and White.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Charing Cross Underground Station, London, England – http://ift.tt/V5qrF7

Well my new Flickr account has been well received and I’d like to thank those who have moved over from my old account to my new one and of course your comments and likes too!

I will be following some of you back but can’t at the moment due to the 20 followers that Flickr puts on new accounts, odd I know but I think its some anti-spam thing.

This is another photo from my Charing X ghost station tour. This is one set of escalators within the station complex, sadly they don’t work anymore but are kept in very good cosmetic condition. Again these were used in the James Bond film Skyfall where famously James Bond slides down the escalator, something that would probably be impossible in real life or if you did attempt it, it would result in some horrendous injury!

If you get chance to visit this station it is well worth a visit so keep an eye on the London Transport Museum website.
