Eiffel Tower Mono by m4photo

We never managed to find any good weather during this trip to Paris and for this reason I decided to capture one last iconic image of the Eiffel Tower which I always planned to produce as a monochrome image.

Despite the classic and common viewpoint, I’m pleased to include this image in my Paris 2015 portfolio.

Towering Perspective by m4photo

This is another classic view of the Eiffel Tower reaching up into the heavens. This was a trying shot owing to the thousands of people milling around the bottom of the tower and the tens of toy lights being waved and flying up into the air, and also people walking in front of and standing in front of the camera.

That said, I think that i nailed this one for the Paris portfolio.

This is another of my Eiffel Tower images that cannot be purchased without a license for the illuminated tower. If you are interested in licensing this image please contact me and I’ll explain more.

Tour Eiffel sur le pont by m4photo

Taken across the river Seine, this image of the Eiffel Tower is one of my favourites from this short visit to the city of Paris, France.

I did not have my trusted filters with me so I opted for a 30 second exposure to smooth the water as much as possible. Although I really like the effect on the water, next time I’ll remember the filters and see how this image can be improved.

Eiffel Tower Trocadero Side by m4photo

Any visit to Paris is not complete without a trip to the Eiffel Tower and although we did not get up onto the tower on this occasion, I was pleased to grab a few images of this iconic structure during this flying visit. This is the first of six images that I will be publishing from this visit and the only one in landscape from a distance.

This view is from the far end of the fountains on the Trocadero metro station side of the river just underneath the Palais de Challiot . I am not sure what the steel structures are in the foreground but getting in front of them was impossible without getting very wet and risking the wrath of the gendarmerie that were bountiful around the area.

Whilst taking this image, a number of other photographers have set up behind and to the side of me and it was interesting to see them grab this spot as I left. I guess that it was either a good spot or a popular one. Either way, this is another image from my first visit to Paris and which is fast becoming one of my favorites.

Boat under Pont Alexandre III Bridge Paris by m4photo

This is the first of two images of the Alexandre III bridge in Paris during this visit. The bridge was not necessarily on my list of possible photo opportunities for this trip. I’ve seen the bridge photographed a thousand times and most of the images look pretty samey I’m afraid. However, following a leisurely walk from the Louvre, down through the park and onto Le Place De Concorde, we found ourselves at the bridge somewhat unexpectedly.

Taking advantage of the opportunity and having my filters with me, I caught a couple of fairly unusual shots of the iconic view. This image, the first of two, caught one of the huge river sightseeing boats travelling down the river. The lights alongside the boats are blinding as they light up the banks and tourist sights for the travel guides to point out. Get caught in those lights and you know it for quite a few seconds.

Unusually, the boat that I caught on this occasion had a bright blue light as well as the usual brilliant white lights along the side of the boat. This gives the image an unusual lighting effect both through the image and also lighting the water beneath the bridge.

Taipei’s Giant by miketlim

The Taipei 101 is a skyscraper located in the Xinyi District of Taipei. When it opened in 2004, it was the tallest building in the world until the opening of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai on 2010.

This view of Taipei’s skyline was shot from the Elephant Mountain Hiking Trail. It’s a short and steep climb to the top but definitely worth the effort.

This photo is comprised 2 exposures and was manually blended using luminosity masks.

Processed using Adobe Lightroom 6 and Photoshop CC 2015.
