Former royal palace by bverbrugge

This is the former Dutch royal palace in Baarn, the Netherlands. Nowadays the palace is empty, but once it used to thrive with activity until 2004 when former Queen Juliana passed away. Originally the building was built around 1650. In its long history it has been altered and extended.

Dutch supermoon eclipse by bverbrugge

Catching the rare super blood moon total eclipse gave me a short night. The wheather predictions weren’t that great. When I woke up at 03.30 (a.m) I could see the eclipse clearly from my bedroom window. So I left home by bicycle to go to a spot where I would have a nice foreground. There was a bit of mist, but luckily not too much. It was worth the early rise. What a magnificent night it was. Live is a gift!

FYI: I used two exposures, as the rotation of the moon does not allow long exposure photos.

More windmills :-) by bverbrugge

This photo is taking at the UNESCO world heritage area ‘Kinderdijk’. This place is high on every tourist ‘places to visit’ list. In total 19 windmills are situated close to each other. Once in a while the windmills are lit up by big lamps and that was also the case when this photo was taken. It looks tranquil, but trust me you had to ‘fight’ for a good spot with fellow photographers. As if the royal family would pass by. 🙂 It was a lot of fun tough.

Rustenhoven by bverbrugge

This beautiful manor house is situated in the middel of the Netherlands. It was built in 1757. That evening the clouds were opening up after a full day of clouds. So I was lucky. In case you’re interested, it is currently for sale: € 4.200.000 (euro’s)
