This is the former Dutch royal palace in Baarn, the Netherlands. Nowadays the palace is empty, but once it used to thrive with activity until 2004 when former Queen Juliana passed away. Originally the building was built around 1650. In its long history it has been altered and extended.
I always wanted to return to The Hague in the evening sometime to shoot the parliament buildings at night. Last night the weather conditions were quite good, hardly any wind thus nice calm water which would be great for the reflections in the water.
Almost 20 years ago, I spent a couple of months in Amsterdam (and I had a veeery good time). Recently, I went there to visit the city again and to do some architectural photography. As a result, I will show a new series called “My Mokum” with pics from Amsterdam.
By the way: “Mokum” originally is a Yiddish word. Locals use it as a name for Amsterdam.
