The Organ by MacClaus

Reykjavík’s white-concrete church Hallgrímskirkja dominates the skyline. In contrast to the eye-catching outside, the Lutheran church’s interior is puritanically plain. The most startling feature is the vast pipe organ by the german organ builder Johannes Klais. It has mechanical action, four manuals and pedal, 102 ranks, 72 stops and 5275 pipes. It is 15 m tall and weighs 25 tons. Its construction was finished in 1992.
