Sunset over The Knights’ Islet by radovan77

Beautiful sunset over City Hall, Riddarholmen, Gamla Stan Stockholm (Sweden)

Riddarholmen (Swedish: “The Knights’ Islet”) is a small islet in central Stockholm. The island forms part of Gamla Stan, the old town, and houses a number of private palaces dating from the 17th century. The main landmark is the church Riddarholmskyrkan, the royal burial church since the 17th century and where a number of Swedish monarchs lie buried.

Stairs to the Heaven by radovan77

Stockholm subway T-Centralen station. The architecture itself is equally striking. The T-Centralen station resembles a blue and white cavern, with walls of sprayed concrete made to imitate rock face rather than covering up the shape of the tunnel. Station designed by Per Olof Ultvedt in 1975.

Last train from Inferno by radovan77

“Last train from Inferno” – Stockholm has one of the most beautiful metro system in the world. Several stations were decorated by artists and this one is cave-like and has vivid colours. Solna Centrum – the most fascinating metro station. 🙂

Inferno by radovan77

So I decided once again to make something new… Here is the first photo of my “subway collection”:
Stockholm subway – Solna centrum station stands out for its cavernous, bright red ceiling that seems to “weigh down” on the platform. So I was there late night and deep in the bowels of Stockholm (tunnelbana) subway system… setting up to take this shot of the station 🙂
