Enjoy the Angkor by Yilin-Yang

This is one of my favourites temple shots in Angkor~~Banteay Samre~~
It’s really beautiful, especially those details and colors on these stones, even they have been washed and cooked by rain and sun for hundred years. I believe that you will like it too my friends~
On the other hand, this panorama is made by 64 photos, and I didn’t used tripod. Because there’s no place for me to put it.
I hope you will enjoy it my friends~

My name is Mardy SUONG, I am from the one of Cambodian Photographers. I wish to extend my heartfelt welcome to all international visitors and photographers to Cambodia-Kingdom of Wonder.

As one of the fastest growing tourism destinations in Southeast Asia, Cambodia’s rich heritage, cultural and natural resources offer a full range of cultural and eco-tourism sites that are both dynamic and sustainable. Highlights include Phnom Penh, the Angkor Wat and the Mekong River Dolphins, just to name a few.

The Kingdom’s capital is a dynamic city where visitors are in the mood for shopping, dining, sightseeing and more. As Cambodia’s hub for commerce, politics and tourism, Phnom Penh is also home to many important institutions and monuments such as Wat Phnom, the Royal Palace and the National Museum. The magnificent Angkor Wat and Preah Vihear, Heritage of Humanity and World Wonder, is probably the most exotic tourist destination in the world and the renowned yet very rare Mekong River dolphins can also be found in Cambodia. During your staying here, do visit and relax on Cambodia’s pristine beaches, explore the coral reefs around many of our beautiful islands and trek through lush mangrove forests. The bay of Cambodia has been inducted to the Most Beautiful Bay of the World Club.

Regards and thanks !

Bayon Temple (Siem Reap) 023 by roysingh0611

NOTE – This is the river on the Northern Gate of Bayon Temple.

The Bayon (Prasat Bayon) is a well-known and richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the official state temple of the Mahayana Buddhist King Jayavarman VII, the Bayon stands at the centre of Jayavarman’s capital, Angkor Thom. Following Jayavarman’s death, it was modified and augmented by later Hindu and Theravada Buddhist kings in accordance with their own religious preferences.

The Bayon’s most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and massive stone faces on the many towers which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak. The temple is known also for two impressive sets of bas-reliefs, which present an unusual combination of mythological, historical, and mundane scenes. The current main conservatory body, the Japanese Government Team for the Safeguarding of Angkor (JSA) has described the temple as “the most striking expression of the baroque style” of Khmer architecture, as contrasted with the classical style of Angkor Wat.

Ta Prohm (Siem Reap) 019 by roysingh0611

Ta Prohm Temple is where they were shooting the movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001).

Ta Prohm (prasat taprohm) is the modern name of the temple at Angkor, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and originally called Rajavihara. Located approximately one kilometer east of Angkor Thom (Bayon Temple) and on the southern edge of the East Baray, it was founded by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university.

Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm has been left in much the same condition in which it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor’s most popular temples with visitors. UNESCO inscribed Ta Prohm on the World Heritage List in 1992. Today, it is one of the most visited complexes in Cambodia’s Angkor region. The conservation and restoration of Ta Prohm is a partnership project of the Archaeological Survey of India and the APSARA (Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap).
