Rokusho-Ji（鹿苑寺) is a correct name of this temple, commonly known as Golden Pavillion or Kinkaku-Ji. due to, well, obvious reasons. Golden Pavillion became famous by Yukio Mishima’s novel based on the incident that the young monk burned down the temple in 1950’s. It was bought and built by Shogun Yoshimitsu Ashikaga in 1937. He was the grandfathre of Yoshimasa, who built Silver Pavillion. ( I made a mistake of mixing up these names earlier, and correted them. My apologies.) Inside the pavillipn, which is nt open to public, is golden. Kyoto, Japan.
