Google’s new earphones offer hands-free operation with a smart assistant that follows commands and answers questions

If Apple has AirPods, then Google has Pixel Buds. It’s not exactly a set of wireless headphones, but what it offers is so much more – think James Bond on a mission!

The Google Pixel Buds is a set of neck headphone that gets rid of the cord mess with a savvy assistant. Google also chose to do away with any buttons hanging on the cord, giving it a sleeker and minimalist look. It is enclosed in a pocket-sized charging case with a magnetic enclosure. Once the headphones are stores, it will connect seamlessly with the case for charging.

For the audio controls, one simply has to swipe left or right to control the volume and tap the right earbud to play or pause the music. This is where it gets exciting. If the user wants to access the Google Assistant, all it takes is touching the earbud and the user can make commands and ask questions, just like James Bond. Further, Pixel buds can also help with translating at least 40 languages.

Google Pixel Buds is available in three colors: Just Black, Kinda Blue, and Clearly White. It is currently available for pre-order in the U.S. for $159.
