Google Created A Test For Mental Health

The new program can be accessed by those Googling the disorder

In a guest post on the Google blog, National Alliance on Mental Illness CEO Mary Giliberti announced a new tool that lets people check if they have depression in under ten minutes. The test, which will be integrated into the results page, is called the PHQ-9 questionnaire.

This self-diagnostic tool asks questions to dig up possible symptoms for of clinical depression. The Patient Health Questionnaire 9 or PHQ-9 was first created in 1999 by Columbia University as a way to screen individuals. It’s a standard set of nine questions.

The test appears only in US Google search results and can be accessed via the knowledge cards when you Google “clinical depression” or “depression”.
