Liquid 3D Printing Can ‘Grow’ Pieces Of Furniture In Just Minutes

MIT developers unveiled a new experimental process that can quickly print entire pieces of furniture

MIT’s Self-Assembly Lab collaborated with Steelcase and award-winning product designer Christophe Guberan on a new experimental process called Rapid Liquid Printing. This breakthrough 3D printing technology physically draws a 3D object within a gel suspension. It enhances speed, scale and quality, exploring the future of furniture personalization and expanding opportunities for innovative customization.

Rapid Liquid Printing claims to address all the limitations of 3D printing. Structures can be produced in a matter of minutes. Designed for large scale products, it can print out entire pieces of furniture using industrial-grade materials.
